Sligo Systems Submersible Pumps
Designed To Handle “Off Design” Conditions

Externally Mounted Level Sensor
- Easy to replace
- No danger of damaging cable
Rugged Solid Polymer Skid
- No wheels to break or
hang up
Commonality With Commercial Pumps
- Exceptional pump / parts availability
You can’t tell the end user that their sump is too dirty or that they shouldn’t have let the system run dry.
They just want the pump to run...period.
Sligo Systems pumps are designed taking into account the most common problems landfill operators have with their existing pump systems. These problems represent a value draining distraction from the revenue generating activities of the business.
Specifically:
Sligo Systems Pumps Can Run Dry Without Damage
Robust mechanical components are the key. Whether caused by a sensor failure or an operator accidentally leaving the pump in “Hand”, neither the pump or the surrounding sump hardware will be damaged in any way.
Power Cable Is Reusable
The pump’s cable entry is engineered so that no plastic deformation of components occurs, allowing the cable to be reused (unlike competing rubber grommet designs) after an overhaul cycle. For long sideslope riser applications this can represent a significant cost savings.
Competing pump suppliers will say that their pumps don’t need mechanical seals.
However, their pumps do have plastic shaft bearings lubricated by the pumped fluid. These plastic bearings wear rapidly when there are solids present and fail catastrophically if run dry.

Sligo Systems Pumps Handle Solids Without Damage
Based on mine dewatering and sewage pump designs with rugged impellers, Sligo pumps can handle anything found in a typical sump. Biogrowth, entrained silt or even rocks will have no effect on long term pump performance.

Sideslope Riser Skid Simplifies Pump Installation
Polymer runners or fully encapsulation with generous lead-ins allow the pump to negotiate riser pipe seams and imperfections with ease. Unlike wheeled designs, there are no damage prone moving parts.

Level Sensor Mount Is Easily Accessible
In the event of a level sensor failure, the sensor can be quickly and easily replaced without disassembling the pump and potentially damaging the new sensor lead.

1) Cable gland compresses cable boot 360 degrees
2) Upper chamber provides space to accommodate differences
in epoxy potting and metal housing expansion rates
3) Strain relief prevents abrasion and kinking of power cable
4) Conductors are stripped locally to provide an anti-wicking
block preventing fluid migration through wire insulation
5) Water tight junction box for the motor terminals - No need
to remove the top motor cover for access
